Hollow Body
One body. One electric guitar. Who is moving whom?
In Hollow Body, dance and distortion collide. Drawing on Jonas Vermeulen’s years as a guitarist with Psycho 44, choreographer Anastassya Savitsky explores the iconic body language of the rock guitarist. The guitar becomes a partner, a prosthesis and an opponent. Body and instrument pull, direct and amplify one another, until they short-circuit into a single restless body.
Hollow Body is the first chapter of a double bill in development, in which Savitsky and Vermeulen each create a solo for the other. The first public work-in-progress of Hollow Body was presented at Rubirock III.
