Anastassya Savitsky (she/her) is a dancer and choreographer whose work blends dance with visual and theatrical elements, often inspired by her multicultural background. Born in Belarus, Anastassya later moved to Belgium, with a brief period in Israel during her early childhood. This experience of navigating different cultural landscapes fuels her artistic fascination with new worlds and reimagining identity.
A graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, she has performed with leading companies, including Jan Martens and Theater FroeFroe, and contributed to research projects and creation processes with Voetvolk/Lisbeth Gruwez and others. Her journey in dance extends to the children’s and youth circuit, where productions like Dinska Bronska(MartHa!tentatief) and her own Stellar Boem have received acclaim for their imaginative use of dance and visual storytelling.
In her current research, Anastassya explores themes of alienation and belonging, drawing from her background as an emigrant and new mother. Her work delves into representations of the female body in art, creating a physical language that transforms personal and collective histories into evocative movement.
Her latest work, Wanderink, set to premiere in March 2025, is a fusion of live drawing and dance, capturing her unique vision of connecting visual and performative arts for young audiences and beyond.
